run with Java Web Start

cd ~/Downloads
wget http://www.sweethome3d.eu/SweetHome3D.jnlp
javaws SweetHome3D.jnlp

or the original java one:

cd ~/Downloads
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.13/jre/javaws/javaws ./SweetHome3D.jnlp

and run using

cd ~/Downloads/
javaws SweetHome3D.jnlp

or if the above does not work, use:

install and run including Java VM

cd ~/Downloads
wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sweethome3d/SweetHome3D-2.0-linux-x86.tgz
tar -xf SweetHome3D-2.0-linux-x86.tgz

and run

cd ~/Downloads/SweetHome3D-2.0
./SweetHome3D

add extra 3D model libraries

mkdir ~/Downloads/SweetHome3D-2.0
mkdir ~/Downloads/SweetHome3D-2.0/extra_models
cd ~/Downloads/SweetHome3D-2.0/extra_models
wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/sweethome3d/3DModels-Contributions-1.0.4.zip?use_mirror=surfnet
wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/sweethome3d/3DModels-KatorLegaz-1.0.4.zip?use_mirror=surfnet
wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/sweethome3d/3DModels-Scopia-1.0.4.zip?use_mirror=surfnet
unzip -o 3DModels-Contributions-1.0.4.zip
unzip -o 3DModels-KatorLegaz-1.0.4.zip
unzip -o 3DModels-Scopia-1.0.4.zip

and go to "add model library"...

settings

File -> Preferences: language: as you like unit: Meter
